Motivation Is An Individual s Choice - 915 Words
To be or not to be motivated is much of an individualââ¬â¢s choice. Many factors make individual motived, but it is always a central problem for leaders and managers to well use those factors to get their employee motivated. Unmotivated employees are likely to spend little or no effort in their jobs, having very low productivity, and do not willing to stay with the organization if possible. On the other hand, motived employees are likely to work persistent, creative and productive. If managers can motive their employees, both and organization and the employees benefit from the fact. According to Rabey (2001), motivation has been defined as the internalized drive that is more dominant in an individual at a given moment. Motivation cannot be created. It comes from inside of a person such as thoughts, beliefs, ambitions and goals. In a workplace, motivation is the willingness to work at a certain level of effort. To better understand what motivation is, we are going to explore some really popular motivation theories. The Two-Factor Theory of motivation was developed by psychologist Frederick Herzberg in the 1950 s. Two factors greatly influence employee motivation and satisfaction. First one is motivator factors, which refers to the factors that lead to satisfaction and motivate employees to work harder, such as career progression.
